This policy explains what information contextohint.net ("we", "us") handles when you use the site, and the choices you have. The short version: we don't require accounts, we don't sell data, and almost everything stays in your own browser.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not require registration and do not ask for your name, email address, or any personal details to use any part of the site.

Information Stored in Your Browser

Your hint progress, answer-reveal state, theme preference, and difficulty votes are stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Word Tester Requests

When you check a word in the Word Tester, the word and the puzzle number are sent to our server-side proxy to look up its similarity rank. These requests are processed to return the result and are not logged against any personal identity.

Hosting & Server Logs

The site is served via Cloudflare, which may process standard technical data (IP address, user agent, request URL) for security, caching, and DDoS protection, and may set strictly necessary cookies for those purposes. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for details.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful (page views, referrers, approximate geography, device type). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to distinguish visits; the data we see is aggregate and we do not use it to identify individuals.

We may display advertising (such as Google AdSense) to keep the site free. Third-party ad vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Children's Privacy

The site is a general-audience word-game guide and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
